Hiya Hiya! *waves*
First up, if you have Livejournal, go here; [link] This is a GREAT community for corset-makers altogether. For first-time makers, to professionals, they all meet there and share info :)

My corsets average at 3-4 layers of fabric. I integrate the bone-casings into the 'main' body of fabric, the under layer. This layer is of Cotton coutil, but any other strong, breathing on non-stretching fabric will do. As for favourite fabrics. Well, inside is always cotton, there's no two ways about it :) But for the outside... anything goes, as long as it can be strengthened with backing. My favourites have to be the silk dupioni's, and the brocades.. I love their shimmer!

Hope this helps! :)

Aw man, that site is so great. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! You are very helpful.

So is the "backing" just interfacing? Or a different kind of fabric?

Thanks so much for all your help. :thanks: I really appreciate it.

Alright, off to some corsetry adventures, aye! :salute:
